The Sumitomo Electric Lightwave FCP-BL is a genuine replacement cleaver blade for Sumitomo FC/FCP series precision fiber optic cleavers. Sumitomo's ordering information lists FCP-BL as the replacement blade for FC/FCP fiber cleaver non-rotating models, and the manufacturer explicitly notes that it does not work with auto-rotating blade cleaver models, which instead use the FCP-7RBL blade.
A cleaver blade is a wear item: the blade must be advanced and eventually replaced to keep cleave quality high. Sumitomo supplies replacement blades and electrodes so fusion splicers and precision tools continue to deliver precise jacket removal, consistent cleaves and low-loss splicing, minimizing splice time and errors.
