The Corning UY2-CART is the cartridge-packaged version of the Presslok™ UY2 copper splice connector, used for butt splicing solid copper conductors in outside-plant and premises telephone/xDSL copper networks. Corning classifies it as a copper splice connector with a butt connector type and gel-filled composition, providing a factory-installed, moisture-resistant sealant that protects the splice without additional encapsulation.
Corning lists fast installation, ease of use, a wide range of common wire gauges and factory-installed sealant as benefits of the Presslok line, with dry versions available for central offices and vaults.
