The Bekaert 657511 is a 0.038 in diameter Type 302 (S30200) stainless steel aerial cable lashing wire supplied on a 1,600 ft coil. Lashing wire secures fiber optic and communication cables to a supporting messenger strand in Outside Plant (OSP) aerial construction; Bekaert states the product meets the requirements of ASTM A580 and works with most cable lashers.
Bekaert notes that Type 302 offers better elongation and ductility than Type 430, so the wire is less likely to break from stress and is easier to bend and unwind during lashing. Coils measure 1-5/8 in minimum inside diameter, 5-3/8 in maximum outside diameter and 2 in maximum height, and are packed six coils per box.
