The Prysmian XSPSC00460 is a 1x32 planar lightwave circuit (PLC) optical splitter supplied as a field-installable assembly with unconnectorised 250µm bare-fibre tails of 1.5 m. PLC splitters provide a compact and reliable method of splitting an optical signal and are an ideal solution for passive optical networks, offering excellent uniformity and low polarization dependent loss (PDL).
Bare-fibre tails allow the device to be spliced directly into the network, and the splitter can be pre-installed into connectivity products such as splice joints, distribution cabinets and wall boxes. Typical applications include FTTx / FTTP access networks, PON architectures such as GPON, XGS-PON and NG-PON2, and CATV distribution. Within this Prysmian splitter range, devices with up to 64 output ports are available, and units can be supplied with connector types such as FC, SC, ST, E2000 and LC on request.
